Bilateral International Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding​​

The NRRC is the national authority responsible for the nuclear regulatory aspects of various bilateral cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding with similar re​gulatory bodies and countries, including neighboring countries. These agreements aim to transfer knowledge, exchange expertise with these countries, develop human capacity programs, share experiences in regulating nuclear facilities and radiation practices, and collabo​rate on joint efforts to achieve nuclear safety and security and prevent proliferation. These bilateral agreements include the following:

1. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the French Republic regarding the development of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/11) dated 28/03/1434H (09/02/2013).
2. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Russian Federation for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/43) dated 28/05/1437H (08/03/2016).
3. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Korea for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/56) dated 21/08/1433H (11/07/2012).
4. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the People's Republic of China for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/19) dated 21/04/1433H (04/03/2013).
5. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Finland for cooperation regarding the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/67) dated 28/10/1437H (03/08/2016).
6. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Argentina for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/74) dated 03/11/1433H (19/09/2012).
7. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United Arab Emirates for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/116) dated 30/08/1441H (24/04/2020).
8. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of nuclear energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/101) dated 25/09/1438H (20/06/2017).
9. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/116) dated 09/11/1437H (31/08/2017).
10. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Hungary for cooperation in the field of peaceful uses of atomic energy, ratified by Royal Decree No. (M/77) dated 27/11/1437H (31/08/2016).
11. Memorandum of Understanding with the French Institute of Radioprotection and Nuclear Safety  (IRSN) for cooperation in nuclear and regulatory matters.
12. Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korean Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) for co​operation in nuclear regulatory matters for the peaceful uses of nuclear technologies.
13. Memorandum of Understanding with the South Korean Institute for Nuclear Safety (KINS) for cooperation in regulatory nuclear matters for the peaceful uses of nuclear technology.

17. Memorandum of Understanding the National Office for Nuclear Safety (SUJB) in the Czech Republic for exchanging information and technical cooperation on nuclear regulatory matters.​
