The National Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Framework Track provides a foundational understanding of the framework governing the national regulation of nuclear and radiological activities. It introduces participants to the legislative framework, technical regulations, regulatory guides, international safety standards, and national standards that support effective regulatory oversight. The track also explains the relationship between the national regulatory framework and relevant international requirements, as well as the role of international organizations in promoting safety, security, and compliance in the nuclear and radiological fields. Furthermore, it presents a comprehensive overview of how an effective regulatory system is established to ensure the safe and responsible use of nuclear and radiological technologies, protect people and the environment, and strengthen the readiness of regulatory personnel to perform their duties efficiently and professionally.

This track aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of the components of the national nuclear and radiological regulatory framework and enable participants to understand the regulatory foundations, international standards, and technical requirements upon which regulatory oversight is based.
