The Nuclear Law Track establishes a comprehensive understanding of the legal framework governing nuclear and radiological activities, including the associated national and international responsibilities and obligations. It introduces participants to national nuclear law, its role in defining regulatory authorities and responsibilities, regulating licensed activities, and ensuring the peaceful, safe, and responsible use of nuclear and radiological technologies.
The track also provides an integrated understanding of the relationship between national legislation and the international legal instruments relevant to nuclear regulation, including treaties, conventions, codes of conduct, and other non-binding instruments. It highlights the importance of these references in strengthening the regulatory system, promoting compliance, and guiding the development of regulations and regulatory guidance in line with national requirements and international commitments.
This track aims to build participants' legal and regulatory knowledge progressively, beginning with the national nuclear legal framework, advancing to international legal instruments and codes of conduct, and concluding with the development of regulatory regulations and guidance. This supports participants in understanding legal and regulatory requirements and applying them effectively within institutional regulatory environments.
