License for Importing Radioactive Sources
This service enables licensed facilities to apply for the import of radioactive sources into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Log in to the National Nuclear Registry Platform via the National Single Sign-On service.

Add and update all radioactive sources held by the facility.

Log in to the Amaan Platform via the National Single Sign-On service.

Submit the import request along with all required documents.
The facility must hold a valid radiation practice license.

A valid radiation practice license with at least three months remaining from the date of application submission.

A contract with a licensed facility for transporting the radioactive sources from the port of entry to the applicant’s facility. The transporter’s license must also be valid for at least three months from the date of application submission.

A commitment letter from the manufacturer of the radioactive sources to retrieve the sealed sources after their use. The letter must clearly state the name, address, and details of the beneficiary (receiving) facility in the Kingdom, along with specific information about the radioactive sources to be received. This requirement is in accordance with Article No. (247) of the Radiation Safety Regulations (NRRC-R-01), which states: “The supplier shall be obligated to accept the return of any sealed radioactive sources after their use.”

A valid Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) license for both the receiving and transporting facilities, with at least three months remaining from the date of application submission.

A copy of the valid license document of the manufacturing company, certified by the competent authority in the country of origin (in English).
