The International Conference on Preparedness and Response to Nuclear and Radiological Emergencies has commenced

The International Conference on Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Preparedness and Response commenced under the theme “Building the Future in a Developing World,” with the participation of over 700 specialists from more than 100 countries and six international agencies. This reflects the Kingdom’s growing role in supporting international efforts in the field of nuclear and radiological security, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The conference, organized by the Commission in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), aims to enhance national and international capabilities in nuclear and radiological emergency preparedness, exchange expertise, and review best practices and the latest technologies in responding to nuclear and radiological incidents. This supports the Kingdom’s drive to elevate its nuclear safety and security system and promotes the development of national infrastructure and expertise, in line with Vision 2030, which focuses on building a diversified knowledge-based economy founded on innovation and advanced technology, and strengthening the Kingdom’s international standing as a global hub for future sciences and technologies.
