The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) has confirmed the completion of preparations for the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) International Conference on Emergency Preparedness and Response (EPR2025), which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host in Riyadh from December 1-4, 2025.

This conference aims to enhance international cooperation, exchange expertise and best practices, and develop national and international capabilities in the areas of nuclear and radiological emergency preparedness and response. It will also review the latest scientific developments, innovations, and solutions in field and medical response during nuclear and radiological emergencies, in addition to discussing challenges related to media coverage, mechanisms for countering rumors, and the role of social media in emergency management.

This conference aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to nuclear and radiological safety and security, solidifying its international standing in this vital field, and its ongoing support for global efforts to raise the level of preparedness and response to nuclear and radiological emergencies to protect people, the environment, and property according to the highest international standards.
