​​Agreement Signed Between the NRRC and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission

The NRRC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today in Vienna with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, focusing on the exchange of technical information and cooperation in​ matters related to nuclear safety.

The MoU was signed on the Saudi side by Dr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Essa, CEO of the NRRC, and on the U.S. side by Christopher Hanson, Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include the regulation and oversight of nuclear facility safety and security, radioactive materials, safeguards implementation, environmental impact of nuclear facilities and radioactive materials, and nuclear safety research programs.​
