In cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a workshop was organized on general safety requirements for radiation protection and the safety of radioactive sources issued by the Agency, under the joint auspices of a number of international organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the International Labour Organization (ILO). These requirements aim to ensure that safety standards are in place in all radiation and nuclear practices, particularly in the medical, industrial, security, agricultural, and research fields, where the use of radiation and nuclear technology in the Kingdom is growing in line with the developments taking place in the Kingdom.
