The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) organized a pavilion at Riyadh Park in conjunction with the celebration of Saudi National Day, with the aim of strengthening engagement with the community, raising awareness, and promoting a culture of nuclear and radiological safety among various segments of society.
The pavilion provided visitors with educational and informative content highlighting the NRRC’s role and responsibilities in protecting people and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. It also introduced key concepts related to nuclear and radiological safety through simplified and interactive approaches designed to enhance knowledge, raise awareness, and correct common misconceptions.
The NRRC’s participation also featured direct engagement with the public, including responding to visitors’ inquiries, helping make scientific and regulatory concepts more accessible, and reinforcing awareness of the importance of nuclear and radiological safety within the community.
As part of the pavilion, the NRRC also dedicated screens and a special area for children and young people, featuring age-appropriate educational activities and awareness content. The initiative aimed to instill safety and awareness concepts from an early age through engaging and interactive learning experiences.
The pavilion reflects the NRRC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its community presence, enhance direct engagement with the public, and promote a culture of nuclear and radiological safety as a shared societal value and responsibility that contributes to protecting people and the environment.
