National Training Course

The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC), in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), organized the National Training Course on the Security of Non-Nuclear Radioactive Material in Transport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 9 to 13 August 2026. The course brought together personnel from entities licensed to transport radioactive materials in the Kingdom.

The course aimed to strengthen national capabilities in the security of radioactive material in transport and enhance participants’ knowledge of the concepts, requirements, and practices associated with the security of radioactive material throughout the various stages of transport. It also sought to support compliance with regulatory requirements and enhance the preparedness and capabilities of relevant entities.

The course covered a range of topics related to the security of non-nuclear radioactive material in transport and the practices applied to protect such material. It also addressed a number of relevant technical and regulatory aspects, enhancing participants’ understanding of the requirements and measures necessary to maintain the security of radioactive material during transport operations.
