National Platform for Nuclear Material Accounting and Control

The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) has launched the National Platform for Nuclear Material Accounting and Control, marking a significant milestone in advancing the digital transformation of nuclear regulatory activities. The new platform enhances the management and oversight of nuclear materials, strengthens data reliability, and supports the Kingdom’s compliance with national regulations and international obligations.

The platform is designed to provide an integrated national system for accounting and controlling nuclear materials, improving the accuracy and reliability of nuclear material data while streamlining accounting, reporting, and regulatory oversight. It also supports the preparation of nuclear material accounting reports in accordance with national regulations and ensures the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia fulfills its international commitments under the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement.

The system serves as a key digital enabler for strengthening regulatory oversight by automating processes, improving data quality, and enhancing the efficiency of monitoring and reporting. It also contributes to increasing the readiness of the national nuclear regulatory framework while promoting governance, transparency, and informed decision-making.

The launch reflects the NRRC’s ongoing efforts to modernize its digital infrastructure and adopt advanced technological solutions that enhance the effectiveness of the national nuclear and radiological regulatory framework.
