The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) has launched the training programmer “Quality Control for Medical Radiation Devices in Diagnostic Radiology” in Riyadh, taking place from 12 to 16 July 2026. The programmer brings together a number of specialists and professionals working in the field of medical radiation devices as part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen national capabilities, promote compliance with regulatory requirements, and reinforce best practices in radiation safety.

The programmer aims to enhance participants’ understanding of quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) concepts for medical radiation devices used in diagnostic radiology, while promoting compliance with regulatory requirements. It also seeks to develop the knowledge and practical skills of specialists in performing quality control tests, thereby improving the performance and efficiency of medical radiation equipment and ensuring the production of high-quality diagnostic images using the lowest reasonably achievable radiation dose, in accordance with internationally recognized radiation protection principles and standards.
