The NRRC Organizes National Workshop on Nuclear Law (1)

The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission organized a national workshop on nuclear law, presenting the Kingdom’s legal and operational regulatory framework and its components, including national policies, regulations, and technical guidelines aligned with international standards in nuclear safety and security requirements.

The workshop addressed aspects of the national system for accounting of nuclear materials and related items, the national radioactive sources register, and procedures related to nuclear non-proliferation. It also covered a range of international instruments to which the Kingdom is committed, including treaties, agreements, UN resolutions, and international codes.

The workshop included participation from representatives of various relevant national entities, as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency, represented by Ms. Johnson and a team of nuclear law specialists, who contributed insights reflecting an international perspective in this field.
