The Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission (NRRC) is organizing a training program titled “Quality Control of Medical Radiation Devices in Diagnostic Radiology Practice” from 13 to 17 September 2026 at its headquarters in Riyadh.
The program aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in the field of quality control of medical radiation devices and raise awareness of the importance of applying quality requirements and standards. This contributes to supporting safe practices in medical diagnostic radiology, maximizing the benefits of radiation practices, and optimizing radiation doses to achieve their intended purpose while minimizing potential side effects.
Quality testing of medical radiation-emitting devices is considered one of the safety requirements within the NRRC’s licensing framework for such practices.
The program is part of the NRRC’s ongoing efforts to develop national capabilities and strengthen competencies in the fields of nuclear and radiological regulation, contributing to fostering a culture of safety and enhancing practices related to the use of radiation technologies in the medical field.
