The intensive training program titled “MicroShield Pro Expert (Fourth Edition)” was conducted at the beginning of 2026 as part of a series of advanced programs aimed at developing technical competencies and enhancing the specialized capabilities of the Authority’s staff in the fields of nuclear and radiation safety. This program builds on the success of previous editions, with a focus on deepening scientific knowledge and expanding participants’ practical skills.
The program aimed to enable participants to accurately estimate radiation doses using recognized scientific methods and standards, as well as to develop their skills in designing and evaluating radiation shielding in accordance with international best practices. It also sought to strengthen the ability of specialists to review and analyze shielding designs submitted by license applicants, ensuring their effectiveness in reducing radiation exposure and achieving the highest levels of safety.
The program included advanced scientific content covering the fundamental principles of radiation transport, methods for calculating shielding for various types of radiation sources, and the use of modern computational tools and software for precise analysis. It also emphasized practical aspects related to real work environments, such as medical and industrial facilities, enhancing participants’ ability to address real-world challenges.
The program was delivered using an interactive and application-based training approach, combining theoretical lectures with practical sessions, case studies, and intensive hands-on exercises. These activities provided participants with opportunities to apply acquired knowledge to realistic scenarios, thereby strengthening their practical understanding and decision-making skills.
Overall, the program contributed to improving participants’ technical readiness and enhancing regulatory performance in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, supporting the Authority’s efforts to protect people and the environment from radiation risks while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
